ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WSPA) - The South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division is investigating two shootings which placed South Carolina State University on lockdown Saturday night.

According to South Carolina State University, the university was placed on lockdown following reports of shots fired at Hugine Suites on campus. The shootings reportedly happened during South Carolina State University's annual homecoming celebration, hours after a football game.

On Sunday the university confirmed two people were shot. One of the victims, a female guest on campus, has died. The other victim, a male guest on campus, was taken to the hospital and his condition is unknown at this time.

Another guest on campus was injured while running away from the scene of the first shooting.
