Heartburn during pregnancy leads to your baby being born with a lot of hair. And spicy foods induce labour.

These are but a few of the top myths that Americans buy into when it comes to pregnancy, according to a new study.

The survey of 2,000 parents and parents-to-be included 250 who are currently pregnant and 250 who are trying to conceive.

The results showed that 29% believe in the heartburn myth, while 21% think spicy food helps with child delivery, the New York Post reported.

Another interesting myth revealed during the study was that seeing certain animals could reveal your baby’s gender, while others believe that listening to hard rock music has a negative effect on a fetus.
