The Australian sharemarket has opened the week in the green, with gains across the board.

The S&P/ASX 200 was up 25.4 points, or 0.3 per cent, to 9012.8 at 10.28am AEST, with all 11 industry sectors in the green, led by industrials and healthcare stocks.

Financial stocks are higher, with all big four banks advancing. Commonwealth Bank – the biggest stock on the index – added 0.5 per cent, ANZ and National Australia Bank both rose 0.4 per cent and Westpac climbed 0.6 per cent.

Mining stocks are mixed. Fortescue edged up 0.1 per cent but Rio Tinto and BHP each lost 0.3 per cent. Among gold miners, Evolution Mining jumped 1.4 per cent and Northern Star added 0.5 per cent as the price of the safe haven continues to reset records amid global uncertainty.
