Ike Turner Jr., a Grammy-winning musician and the son of music legends Ike and Tina Turner, has died at 67.

His cousin, Jacqueline Bullock, confirmed the news in a statement to Page Six . According to a report from TMZ , Turner Jr. died of kidney failure and had been battling serious heart issues for years.

“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of my cousin, Ike Turner Jr.,” Bullock said in the statement. “‘Junior’ was more than a cousin to me, but rather a brother, as we grew up in the same famed household together.”

Tina Turner adopted Ike Jr. and his brother Michael, who were Ike Sr.’s children from a previous relationship with Lorraine Taylor, Page Six said.
