PHOENIX — One rider is dead after two motorcyclists were involved in a collision near Mesa Gateway Airport on Sunday, authorities said.

The other rider involved was taken to a nearby hospital for injuries not expected to threaten their life, according to the Mesa Police Department.

Detectives had not yet determined a cause for the collision.

No other information was provided.
