THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Transport Department has decided to drop its proposal to restructure the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) into three zones- a move originally aimed at improving professionalism, efficiency, and revenue generation.
The plan, inspired by the Sushil Khanna Report, proposed dividing KSRTC into three independent zones- North, Central, and South- with headquarters in Kozhikode, Kochi, and Thiruvananthapuram, respectively. The decentralised model was expected to make KSRTC more competitive and financially self-sufficient, while also introducing performance-based incentives for employees.
