The Trump administration deployed at least 200 federalized California National Guard members to Oregon overnight into Sunday, officials there said, and more are expected after a judge temporarily blocked the administration from deploying that state's guard to Portland.
California Attorney General Rob Bonta and Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield on Sunday said they have jointly asked the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon to block the deployment of 300 federalized California National Guard troops to Portland, Oregon.
"The Trump Administration claimed that California National Guard troops were urgently needed to maintain peace in Los Angeles - yet it is sending the entirety of the remaining troops to Oregon without hesitation," Bonta said in a statement.
