Taylor Swift won this weekend’s box office battle, but One Battle After Another is winning the war with its budget. As expected , Swift’s cinematic album release event topped the box office with $45 million globally. But also, as merely hoped for, OBAA had a strong second week with $42 million globally. The film has now crossed the $100 million mark, setting it up for success financially and creatively. The same cannot be said for The Smashing Machine , which only earned $6 million in its opening weekend.
