ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Rochester Honor Flight's Mission 92 returned home around noon today, October 5, bringing back a group of veterans from a memorial trip to Washington, D.C.
The veterans, along with their guardians and the Honor Flight crew, were welcomed by a loud crowd at the Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport. The group, largely composed of Vietnam veterans, participated in a whirlwind tour of the nation's capital, visiting various memorials.
"Just being there shows you how much it is for these families and people. I just wish that every senior could come and experience this. I think it would be the best lesson we could ever have for this next generation to enjoy the freedoms they now deserve," said Capt. (Ret.) Gregg Fitch, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.
