(KBTX) - The Texas A&M football team entered the top 5 of the Associated Press Top 25 for the first time since 2021 by moving up a position in Sunday’s poll .
A&M remained at No. 5 in the USA Today Coaches Poll.
The Aggies’ 31-9 win over Mississippi State Saturday pushed them ahead of previous AP No. 5 Oklahoma, despite the Sooners knocking off Kent State 44-0 Saturday.
A&M last claimed the No. 5 position in the Week 1 poll of 2021, moving up from preseason No. 6 though A&M was off during that Week Zero. The Aggies held No. 5 in the poll for seven straight weeks in 2020, before finishing the year at No. 4 with an Orange Bowl title.
It is the 83rd time in the history of the poll the Aggies have been in the top 5.
