A Long Beach man was arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder after allegedly stabbing two of his roommates on Saturday morning — killing one and seriously injuring the other, authorities said.

Officers with the Long Beach Police Department responded around 10:38 a.m. to the 1300 block of Temple Avenue for an “assist fire” call, officials said in a news release.

When officers arrived, they found two men suffering from stab wounds to the upper body. One man was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition.

Investigators said the suspect, who remained on scene, was safely taken into custody without further incident.
