Anne Spenny, of Toledo, said she loves checking out local markets.
After looking around the inaugural Vistula Artist Market, she decided on a handcrafted wooden piece, made by DJP Turnings.
“I love supporting local artists and seeing what is out there,” Ms. Spenny said. “Being able to pick out a beautiful, handcrafted piece is what makes it better.”
Sunday’s artist market, sponsored by the Toledo Spirits Co., was meant to honor the Vistula neighborhood.
“Vistula was one of two original neighborhoods in Toledo,” Ms. Maddy Steinmiller, event leader at Toledo Spirits said. “Its nickname was Lowertown at that time. We are hoping to have this yearly to celebrate Vistula and to bring people back to one of the city’s original neighborhoods.”
