TENAFLY, New Jersey (WABC) -- This week, Jews around the world mark two years since the October 7 attacks at the hands of Hamas. It comes as Israel and Hamas prepare for talks to try to end the war in Gaza and release the remaining Israeli hostages.
The White House says President Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff and his son-in-law Jared Kushner will be part of the U.S. team at those talks which begin Monday in Egypt.
At the JCC in Tenafly, New Jersey they are getting ready for the somber event as the two-year anniversary approaches.
Forty eight hostages being held in Gaza still have not been released. Of them, only 20 are believed to be alive.
In Central Park there was a march to focus on those still in captivity, calling for all the bodies to be returned home.
