A tragic incident has emerged from Pratappur village under Mohana police limits in Ganjam district, where a farmer allegedly took his own life after suffering heavy crop losses due to incessant rainfall. The incident occurred on Sunday, sending shockwaves through the local farming community.

The deceased, a resident of Pratappur, was engaged in cultivating maize, paddy, and vegetables. His identity has not been officially released by authorities. Family members say the relentless downpour destroyed large portions of his crops, pushing him into deep financial distress.
