HENRY COUNTY — A Luella High School teacher, a Clarke County Sheriff’s Office jailer and a U.S. Customs agent were among five suspects recently arrested for pandering in a joint operation by the GBI and Henry County Police Department.

According to a Thursday, Oct. 2 GBI press release, the Sept. 25 Operation “Johns and Bonds” was a targeted operation focused on demand reduction in the commercial sex trade. The operation aimed to apprehend individuals attempting to purchase sex and to offer support and services to those being exploited.

The following suspects were arrested and charged with pandering:

— Kerry Vanderford , 55, of Hampton, Luella High School teacher.

— Darroyln Simmons , 55, of Locust Grove, U.S. Customs agent.

— Isaac Irizarry , 26, of Lawrenceville, Clarke County Sher
