A Canberra man has been missing for five days, and was last seen in the city's north.

ACT police are asking the community to help find missing 26-year-old Pradip Itani.

Pradip has not been seen or heard from since lunchtime on Wednesday, October 1, and was last seen in Belconnen.

He is described as of Nepalese heritage, about 165cm (5'5") tall, with a medium build, a dark beard and short dark hair.

Police said Pradip does not have a vehicle and usually moves around Canberra using public transport. He normally works in Griffith but failed to attend work in the past week.

Police and Pradip's family hold concerns for his welfare and are requesting the public's assistance to locate him.
