PERRY, Ga. — When the Georgia National Fair first arrived in Perry in 1990, its theme was “Georgia Magic.”
This year’s theme, “Fairadise,” resonates deeply with locals because it cleverly plays on Perry’s beloved nickname, “Perry-dise.”
Locals said the secret to Perry’s charm comes down to its people.
Ellie Loudermilk has lived in Perry since 1971 and serves as president of the Perry Area Historical Society, said how much she loves her home.
“I love when the door opens and you never know who’s coming in or from where. It really is idyllic.”
Loudermilk said “Perry-dise” is the best way to capture what the town is all about.
“There’s camaraderie, there’s neighbor loving neighbor,” she said.
Savannah Osborne expressed similar feelings.
“You really grow a bond with all the different
