THUNDER BAY — The Timmins Majors’ five-game season-opening winning streak ran into a brick wall at the Fort Williams First Nations Arena over the weekend.

In fact, it morphed into a two-game losing skid, thanks to a pair of setbacks against the Great North U18 League’s newest franchise, the Kings.

After dropping a 4-2 decision to their hosts Saturday night, the Majors were blanked 4-0 Sunday morning.

Kainaan MacGillivray provided the Kings with shutout goaltending in Sunday morning’s contest.

Nathan Caputo’s second goal of the season, 1:31 into the opening period, provided MacGillivray with all the offensive support he would need.

But Owen Bodnar added a second-period tally, his first goal of the season, to double the Kings’ advantage.
