LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 61 million adults are reported to have a disability. And, in Michigan alone, 2.3 million adults have some type of disability.
Ahead of Lansing’s local elections, disability advocate groups Lansing Undersea and Your Mom Directory created a community forum to discuss ways to make Lansing more accessible.
“We want more people to be able to experience Lansing. And we want more people to join us in conversations,” said Ceo of The Fledge, Jerry Norris. “We need diversity of thought and that follows diversity of people.”
