Tyrese Gibson turned himself in to deputies after a misdemeanor warrant was issued for the "Fast & Furious" franchise star.

The 46-year-old actor, who faces an animal cruelty charge, appeared at the Fulton County Sheriff's Office on Friday, Oct. 3, according to jail records reviewed by USA TODAY. He was soon processed for an "immediate" release, his lawyer Gabe Banks told USA TODAY in a statement on Sunday, Oct. 5.

Records show Gibson had posted a $20,000 bond.

"Earlier Friday morning, Mr. Tyrese Gibson voluntarily turned himself in to the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office to answer the misdemeanor warrant," Banks' statement read. "Last week (Tuesday), Mr. Gibson’s legal team worked with prosecutors and successfully secured a consent bond for his immediate release. He has now been processed and released."

Gibson's four dogs allegedly killed a neighbor's Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, according to The Associated Press and CNN. Gibson's inmate record cites Sept. 18 as the date of the alleged incident.

The outlets also report that the dogs have not been turned over to authorities.

"Despite what others might say, throughout this entire process Mr. Gibson has cooperated fully with legal authorities and will continue to do so until this matter is resolved," Banks' statement continued. "Mr. Gibson once again wants to extend his deepest condolences to the family who lost their dog and respectfully asks for privacy and understanding as this matter is handled through the appropriate legal channels."

In a Sept. 30 statement, Banks noted that "Mr. Gibson immediately made the difficult decision to rehome his dogs to a safe and loving environment."

USA TODAY has reached out to the Fulton County Police Department for comment.

On Oct. 5, Gibson shared a graphic on Instagram that read "no comment." In the lengthy caption, he shared several Bible passages and encouraging words for anyone who might "scroll across this post."

"Life can feel unbearable. But hear me—there is hope in the LORD Jesus Christ," he wrote, in part. "Let this sink in: You are loved. You are seen. You are chosen. You are never alone."
