KENNEWICK, Wash. – The Kennewick City Council will hold a public hearing during its regularly scheduled meeting on a proposed partnership extension with Waste Management of Washington, Inc.

The new 10 year contract will continue to offer garbage collection services to both residential and commercial customers. It includes updates to the residential recycling program, providing 96-gallon carts for bi-weekly collection.

Additionally, the contract retains six free dumps at the transfer station for residential customers, the fall leaf collection program and services to the Toyota Center and Convention Center.

Under the new agreement , prices will increase January 1 to $21.82 per month for a 35-gallon garbage cart for 2025 and $25.81 per month for a 35-gallon garbage cart for 2026.
