A cold front will bring much-needed rainfall to New Jersey on Wednesday morning, with up to 1 inch of precipitation forecast across the region followed by much cooler weather.

The rain will provide relief after several days of dry, warm conditions.

The cold front is expected to move through the state Tuesday night into Wednesday, with most rainfall occurring during the morning hours.

Widespread rain totaling near one inch is anticipated, though some areas may receive slightly less or more precipitation. While thunderstorms are possible, the severe weather threat remains very low.

Temperatures will remain warm ahead of the front, with highs in the low 80s on Monday and Tuesday.

By Wednesday afternoon, temperatures will drop to around 70 degrees as the cold front passes.
