An investigation is underway after a man's body was found in a Far South Coast park overnight.
About 2am, Monday, October 6, emergency services were called to East Street in Bega, following reports of a concern for welfare.
Officers attached to the South Coast Police District attended and found the body of a man in a park.
He is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be aged in his 40s.
Police have established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident, with assistance from detectives attached to the State Crime Command's Homicide Squad.
Investigations are ongoing.
Bega's East Street between Orange Roughy Road and Rawlinson Street was closed while emergency services were on scene.
Forensic investigators were seen placing yellow
