LAFAYETTE TOWNSHIP, Ind. —

One person is in the hospital following an injury accident in Floyd County Sunday evening.

According to posts made by the Highlander Fire Protection District and Floyds Knobs Professional Firefighters 5426, around 6:15 p.m., first responders were called to a crash between U.S. 150 and East Luther Road.

When first responders arrived at the scene, they found at least two vehicles that had been involved in a crash.

One victim involved in the crash was trapped inside their vehicle and needed to be extracted due to the severity of the accident.

Officials say the victim was in critical condition and was transported to UofL Hospital.

They said the occupant of the other vehicle was evaluated by EMS on the scene and was not injured.
