ST. LOUIS PARK, Minnesota — Chi-Chi’s, the Mexican-food restaurant chain that once had more than 200 locations in the U.S., is making a return Monday, more than 20 years after its closure.
A news release says the new location is opening in St. Louis Park, Minn., “with a refreshed design and crave worthy menu." The Minnesota restaurant is considered a “flagship” for the brand’s relaunch, the company says.
Additional locations are planned but the news release does not say where.
“Chi-Chi’s is back stronger than ever,” Michael McDermott, founder of Chi-Chi’s Restaurants LLC, said in a statement. “We’re bringing back the food, energy and fun that people love, now with a fresh twist for a whole new generation.”
