Four medals on the final day of the World Para Athletics Championships helped India to its record medal haul in the history of the competition on Sunday, October 5. India finished with 22 medals in the 2025 edition of the tournament, the first that it hosted. Navdeep Singh, Preethi Pal, Simran Sharma and Sandeep won their respective medals, helping India finish 10th in the competition.

The focus was on crowd favourite Navdeep Singh, who shot to fame in the Paris Paralympics for his hilarious, expletive-filled celebration in the men's F41 javelin competition. Navdeep had won a historic gold medal in Paris with a 47.32m throw. Scenes turned out to be similar on Sunday as well, when the crowd cheered him on during his event.
