Miami slid past Oregon for the No. 2 spot behind Ohio State in this week's Associated Press Top 25 poll, while preseason favorites Penn State and Texans now can be located in the "others receiving votes" category.

The Nittany Lions and Longhorns entered the weekend Nos. 7 and 9, respectively, before their second losses of the season sent them tumbling out of the rankings altogether. Penn State lost 42-37 in a stunner at previously winless UCLA, and Texas fell 29-21 at unranked Florida.

Texas and Penn State were Nos. 1 and 2 in the preseason poll. That makes three of the preseason top four now unranked, as they join Clemson (No. 4 before the season), which is 2-3 and still unranked.
