Trine University now has equipment that will help students learn about electric vehicle components.
The Angola-based institution announced in a news release last month that it purchased an EV Trainer Cart – a fully assembled, operational electric vehicle training system for educators wanting hands-on teaching aids.
The manufacturer is California-based EVWest, which specializes in converting vehicles from gas to electric, the release said.
Longtime college automotive instructor Mark Weller developed the cart because he saw the demand for a way to teach the electric vehicle drivetrain in an easy-to-learn format with real components, the release said.
At Trine, the release said, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and robotics students are expected to benefit.
