NASHVILLE, Tennessee — A skydiving instructor died after he apparently fell from a plane without a parachute, authorities say.
Justin Robert Fuller, 35, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and his 46-year-old student reportedly became stuck on the side of a plane while they were wearing a tandem parachute rig during a jump Saturday afternoon, Nashville police tell WSMV Channel 4 . Fuller reportedly became separated from the rig and fell.
Police say Fuller’s body was found in a clearing in a wooded area. The student’s parachute deployed but he had to be rescued after getting stuck in a tree for several hours, police say. He was taken to a hospital as a precaution, The Charlotte Observer reports .
Three other skydivers who earlier jumped from the plane were OK, reports say.
