This time, the U.S. Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston demonstrated that same instinct. During a routine inspection at the Port of Houston, Texas, the team heard something unusual coming from one of the shipping containers.

They moved quickly to investigate, and what they found was one of their most unexpected discoveries yet.

An Unbelievable Discovery During Routine Inspection

Officer Ryan McMahon and his crew heard barking and scratching sounds coming from a container stacked roughly 25 feet high.

With over 10,000 containers at the terminal, it was sheer luck that the team happened to be nearby. They used a crane to lower the container to the ground, and what emerged stunned them.
