The Opelousas Catholic High School community showed up in waves to vote for one of its own in this week's Daily Advertiser Athlete of the Week poll. In an online poll that closed on Friday, OCS football's Roderick Tezeno received 52% of votes cast for a total of 42,930 votes earning him the title of Athlete of the Week for the week of Sept. 29- Oct. 5.
The four-star wide receiver earned this recognition after lighting St. Edmund football's defense up in Week 5 play. Using his 6-foot-2, 175-pound frame, Tezeno made big time catches every time the Vikings needed it — finishing the game with 191 yards and two touchdowns.
