EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - The City of East Lansing will begin flushing its water mains on Monday, October 6.

Flushing will occur on weekdays between 7:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. for the next three weeks.

The flushing will take place in the area east of Abbot Road and south of Lake Lansing Road, within city limits. Remaining areas will be addressed at a later date.

During this process, residents may experience low water pressure or discolored water.

City officials emphasize that the water remains safe to drink and does not pose a health risk.

However, residents are advised to check their water before doing laundry to prevent potential staining or discoloration.
