The incident happened Thursday, Sept. 18, 2025, at a majorette dance practice at Warren Central High.

The girl, according to her father, tried to tell the coach that her hands were hurting.

The girl's father, Travis Peagler, filed a police report and hired an attorney.

A Warren Central dance coach, who allegedly forced students to do bear crawls on a scorching track in extreme heat causing second-degree burns and hospitalization of at least one dancer, has resigned from her coaching position, the school system confirmed Sunday night.

The coach has also been placed on paid administrative leave from her job as a teacher, Dennis Jarrett, director of media and community relations for Warren Township School District, wrote in an e-mail to IndyStar.
