MACON, Ga. — A 16-year-old man was shot to death in west Macon over the weekend, according to a press release from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office .

They say the teenager was found shot in the 5000 block of Soldad Court in west Macon.

The call came into the Macon-Bibb E-911 center at around 11:57 p.m. on Sunday, the sheriff's office said.

They responded to the scene of a home where they found the teenager with a gunshot wound.

They say emergency services were dispatched to the scene, but the 16-year-old would be pronounced dead by Deputy Coroner Richard Robertson.

The Bibb County Sheriff's Office says the next of kin has been notified, but the press release did not identify the victim of the shooting.
