MEDIA — The Delaware County Press Club will present a networking and luncheon program, with special guest speaker Philadelphia Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel at La Locanda Ristorante, 4989 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, at noon Wednesday, Oct. 22.

Check in and networking will begin at 11:30 a.m.

Bethel, a southwest Philadelphia native, joined the department in 1986 and quickly established himself as a leader. He rose through the ranks in diverse units, including Special Investigations, the Narcotics Strike Force, Field Unit, Intelligence Unit, and Internal Affairs. He was appointed Commissioner of Patrol Operations in 2009 by former department Commissioner Charles Ramsey.
