The internet has been buzzing ever since OpenAI dropped its upgraded video-generation model, Sora 2. While some users are in awe of how realistic and cinematic AI-generated clips have become, others are calling it the downfall of creativity itself, even labelling it as “AI slop."

They are accusing the company of flooding the internet with lifeless, machine-made content. Vinod Khosla, Indian-American billionaire and one of OpenAI’s backers, is now hitting back at critics.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the 70-year-old founder of Khosla Ventures didn’t mince words as he defended the company’s innovation. He wrote, “Let the viewers of this ‘slop’ judge it, not ivory tower luddite snooty critics or defensive creatives." According to him, Sora doesn’t kill creativity. Instead, it expands it.
