Beloved author Jilly Cooper has passed away aged 88.
The cherished writer - dubbed the 'queen of the bonkbusters' for her steamy novels including Riders and Rivals - has tragically died after suffering a fall, her family confirmed today.
Jilly's children Felix and Emily released a statement confirming their mother's death on Sunday morning following the accident.
The family said: "Mum, was the shining light in all of our lives.
"Her love for all of her family and friends knew no bounds. Her unexpected death has come as a complete shock.
"We are so proud of everything she achieved in her life and can't begin to imagine life without her infectious smile and laughter all around us.", reports the Mirror .
A private funeral will take place as Jilly requested, whilst a public memorial se
