Longueuil police are investigating after a newborn was abandoned at the front door of a local residence on Sunday night.
Police said Monday morning that an individual rang the doorbell of a home on Bourgeoys St. in Longueuil around 11 p.m. Sunday and left a newborn and apparently premature baby boy at the door before leaving.
The occupants of the residence immediately called 911. Police and ambulance technicians took the infant to hospital, where he is reportedly in good health.
Investigators are trying to determine the identity of the person who abandoned the child as well as that of the boy.
