Sean “Diddy” Combs was sentenced to 50 months in prison Friday, Oct. 3, in Manhattan federal court, marking a dramatic fall for one of hip-hop’s most influential figures. The sentencing follows Combs’ conviction on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, each carrying a maximum of 10 years.

U.S. District Court Judge Arun Subramanian handed down the sentence after weighing recommendations from both sides. Combs’ legal team had requested 14 months, while federal prosecutors pushed for 11 years. Subramanian opted for a middle ground, aligning with probation office guidance. Combs has already served 12 months in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, making him eligible for release as early as late 2026 with good behavior.
