HILLSDALE COUNTY, Mich. (WILX) - Troopers from the Michigan State Police Jackson Post are investigating a deadly motorcycle crash that left two people dead Saturday afternoon.

The crash happened around 3:52 p.m. on October 4, on Meridian Road just north of Beecher Road in Pittsford Township.

According to the initial investigation and witness accounts, a 59-year-old man from Manitou Beach was riding a 2005 Harley-Davidson motorcycle north on Meridian Road. A 60-year-old woman from Hudson was riding as his passenger.

Witnesses said the motorcycle tried to pass another vehicle by crossing the centerline. When the rider saw oncoming traffic, he swerved to avoid a collision but lost control and went into the ditch on the opposite side of the road.
