SEYMOUR, Ind. (WAVE) - A Seymour man is in jail after a traffic stop led to an arrest for multiple car break-ins and drug possession.

The Seymour Police Department attempted to pull over a vehicle on probable cause, which led to a brief pursuit as the driver failed to stop.

During the stop, officers had reason to believe that the driver, 25-year-old Xavier Garlinghouse, was a suspect in multiple vehicle break-ins. A K9 unit was deployed to search the area for any items that may have been thrown from the vehicle during the pursuit. That search resulted in the discovery of a handgun and drugs and another gun that had been reported stolen out of a vehicle in the area the break-ins had been reported.
