ASHEVILLE – The Buncombe County Tourism Development Authority approved $12.4 million for eight area projects designed to attract visitors, grow the economy and enhance quality of life as the region continues to recover from Tropical Storm Helene.

Projects include a soccer complex in East Asheville, hammered by Helene; the expansion of downtown’s Asheville Museum of Science; and a $4.5 million investment in Beacon Park in Swannanoa.
