GREENSBORO, N.C. — The race for Greensboro mayor is in the spotlight, with four candidates competing for the job . The Primary Election Day is Tuesday, Oct. 7 - four candidates will be narrowed down to two. Then, Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 4.
Four Candidates, One Seat
All four candidates spoke with WFMY News 2’s Hannah Hill about key issues facing the city, including housing, homelessness, and violence. Each candidate shared why they are running for mayor and what they hope to bring to the role.
Akir Khan pointed to his work with the nonprofit Out of the Garden Project , saying, “We’ve done already a million pounds of food this year… but this is one that the East side of Greensboro and all of Greensboro needs.”
