CHICAGO — The state of Illinois and city of Chicago are suing to stop the Trump administration from sending hundreds of National Guardsmen here, officials announced Monday.
Officials announced Sunday the federal government — over Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker’s objections — planned to federalize the Illinois National Guard and call up 300 guardsmen. On Saturday, news broke that another 400 guardsmen from Texas were also going to be sent to Chicago and other Democrat-run cities.
