PRESCOTT, Ariz. - Local product and former Central Spartan standout Ariana Peraza scored the lone goal at the 42-minute mark, and ACCAC DI goalkeeper of the week, Iyan Hernandez, earned her sixth shutout of the season, as No. 2 Arizona Western women's soccer team defeated Yavapai 1-0 on the road Saturday afternoon.

For the Lady Matadors, it was their first action on the pitch since September 23rd, an 8-0 road win at Southern Nevada. The lone goal was Peraza's third of the season and the first game-winner of her collegiate career. Hernandez faced a total of four shots on goal. The Lady Matadors peppered Yavapai goalkeeper Talon Bennett with a total of 15 shots on goal.

With the win, Arizona Western improves to 8-0 on the season and 5-0 in conference play.
