CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A 19-year-old is facing misdemeanor charges after firing shots toward a group of people over the weekend, according to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office.
Darnell Rashawn Harris was arrested on Saturday and charged with discharging a firearm within city limits and possession of up to a half-ounce of marijuana, according to court documents.
According to the charging documents, Harris grabbed his friend's firearm and fired two shots towards another group of adults. The specific location was not disclosed in court records. Witnesses in the Uptown area reported hearing shots fired near Romare Bearden Park Saturday evening. Medic responded to the scene but reported no injuries.
