OPELOUSAS, La. (KPLC) - A Jennings inmate in the St. Landry Parish Jail has been accused of the attempted murder of a fellow inmate, according the the Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz says the attack happened on Oct. 1 when the shift supervisor for the Parish Jail says they found a victim on the first floor bleeding from an apparent beating.
“The deputy immediately pulled the victim from the cell, told staff to call an ambulance, and began administering first aid,” said Sheriff Guidroz. “The victim’s injuries were severe enough to warrant him being transferred to Lafayette General for treatment of multiple facial fractures, a broken jaw, and a brain bleed.”
The Sheriff’s Office determined that Gaige White, 28, of Jennings, was the suspect. He has been arrested and booke
