CLEVELAND – A decade after they last toured, and after years of brushing off lucrative offers, the surviving members of the legendary Canadian rock band Rush will reunite next summer to play live, celebrate their distinctive catalogue and honor the legacy of late drummer Neil Peart.

Singer and bassist Geddy Lee and guitarist Alex Lifeson made the surprise announcement Sunday night at an invite-only event at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame pitched simply as an evening of conversation.

Their news, revealed midway through the onstage discussion, drew enthusiastic cheers, particularly when the duo confirmed that one of the shows on presale later this week would be at Cleveland’s Rocket Arena.
