If you haven’t yet heard, the beloved Gilmore Girls series is celebrating its 25th anniversary this month, which means the fast-talking show is officially old enough to be considered vintage. That’s rather fitting, because antiques have played a significant role in the series through the years. Whether it’s the stately brown furniture in Emily and Richard Gilmore’s well-appointed home (“built in 1907 and designed by a protege of Stanford White,” says Richard), the crowded aisles of Mrs. Kim’s antiques store, or the cozy and collected interiors of Lorelai’s Victorian cottage , antiques go a long way toward advancing each character’s story, not to mention creating a cozy, loveably lived-in atmosphere as a whole.
