FAYETTE COUNTY, Iowa — An accident involving a lawn mower claimed the life of 84-year-old Jacob Doren Bricker of West Union on Sunday. The Fayette County Sheriff's Office says Bricker was mowing a ditch on Juniper Road near 290th Street when he lost control of his John Deere zero-turn mower at around 3:17 pm and went off an embankment. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Fayette County Sheriff's Office responded to the 911 call and was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol, Iowa DNR, Ossian Fire Department, Gundersen Tri-State Ambulance, Gundersen Air, and Lacrosse County Medical Examiner. An investigation is ongoing.
